Quote of the day...

...comes from Jeff Stier of the American Council on Science and Health, discussing the sacking of James Enstrom:

“They fired him because he allegedly went beyond the science of his paper, and inserted his own opinion,” says ACSH’s Jeff Stier. “If that were the standard that the University of California system used for firing people, they’d be left with no professors.”

Indeed. And, for no particular reason at all, here's a photo of UCSF's Prof. Stanton Glantz with the newly promoted Prof. Anna Gilmore:

Congratulations to Prof. Gilmore. She dedicates her life to a noble task: studying hot air and tweaking statistics.

Our Stan!

Is this the world famous discoverer of smoke caused heart attack that is for some unknown reason only detectable by professional anti-smokers!

I really have no idea what made you think of him!

Serious questions need to be asked about the Public Health gravy train in the UK. Gilmore is living proof that the system rewards talentless nobodies provided that they lie convincingly to the media and fabricate the data to suit the message.
